Carter was captivated by Ellyson Evans the moment he laid eyes on her, but she was the one girl who didn't beg for his attention. He wanted her. Ellyson vowed to never fall in love, because love can destroy you, but then she met Carter Jennings. She wanted him. Unwilling to risk their comfortable friendship, neither confessed their desires. Losing touch after college, a chance meeting reconnects them. They want each other. But love in the city is never quite that easy.
Book One – Wanted By You
Carter is one of those guys who seemingly has it all and he could have any girl he wants. But the one girl he wants Ellyson doesn’t treat him like most women do and he likes that. He likes that a lot. Ellyson wants Carter just as much as he wants her but they’re both too set on staying in the friend zone because they don’t want to lose what they have.
Then life happens and they grow apart until they are reunited and all the feelings that they’ve fought for so long can’t be fought any more.
I loved their story and everything that is Carter and Ellyson.
I absolutely adored this book!
Reading this book…
“I felt like the fat German kid from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory who fell into the chocolate river because he couldn’t get enough.”
Carter and Elly’s story sucked me in from the start. They met on the first day of college and they completely hit it off. They had an amazing friendship that lasted through their college years. Secretly they were both in love with each other but both denied their feelings to protect their friendship. After college, life got in the way and they slowly started growing apart and eventually lost touch with one another.
Years later fate steps in and they reunite. The build up to this moment had me squeeing SO hard I could barely sit still.
“My chest tightened more as I took in Carter Jennings, the 2013 version, and Oh.My.God. ohmigawd!”
When these two are finally reunited the sexual energy between them crackles from the pages. I squeed, I swooned, I laughed and I even cried when reading this amazing debut novel. Carter and Elly’s story does not have a ton of drama or angst. They do face a serious hardship at one point but the way Carter handles it will make you fall even more in love with his character. He is AH-mazing! Definite book boyfriend material ladies! ALL of their side character friends are hilarious. They make bets against each other on what is going on in their lives that will have you laughing out loud. I can’t wait to see where this series goes and who the next book is about!
“Forever’s all I’ve ever wanted with you.”
Book Two – Fantasized By You

Celebrity fashion designer, Harper Jennings is only months away from turning thirty, and her dream of living a happily ever after has yet to come true.
The attraction is there and they both want reach other but some things from their past holds them back.
The story is amazing and I couldn’t put it down Steph Nuss had done it once again. Harper and Maverick’s Story was beautifully told and to see the fantasy become a reality.
“When I kissed you for the first time, I knew I wanted you to be the last woman I ever kissed for the rest of my life.” -Maverick
Steph Nuss does it again in her second installment of her Love In the City Series! I fell in love with ALL the characters in the first book Wanted By You and I have been so excited to see all of her swoon worthy characters get their own books!
Book #2 centers around Harper and Maverick. The reader was introduced to both of these characters in the previous book. Harper is a highly successful fashion designer and a bulimia survivor. She is strong, hardworking, loyal and one of the sweetest heroines I have ever read. Ahh Maverick. Talk about one of the best book boyfriend names ever! He is a personal trainer and owns a successful gym in the heart of the city. Mav is strong, sexy, loyal, protective and goes after what he wants. These two were a perfect match for each other and I could not put their story down!
Of course they had few things to overcome and little bit of angst. To begin with Mav despises the fashion industry and what it can do to those involved in it. He lost a friend to an eating disorder so when he meets Harper it’s not exactly rainbows and unicorns. He soon realizes that she is an asset to the team he is building at his gym specifically dealing with counseling and eating disorder help. Once their fantasies about each other come to fruition their romance really picks up steam and I found myself swooning over their tender moments. Throw in the media, Harper’s best friend, all the other swoony side characters, a stalker and a bit of suspense you are in for a solid 4 Star Read!
