Schizoaffective disorder: a mental illness in which a person experiences a combination of mood disorder and schizophrenia symptoms.Buy the Book •
I know about this illness—very well—because I suffer from it. It’s been four years since my diagnosis, and ever since, I’ve been living in a dark hole. Voices constantly invading my thoughts. Hallucinations. All of which force me to question if what I’m experiencing is even reality.
But here I am, still hanging on, still breathing and living through it.
That is, until he stumbled into my life. Logan Reed. I don’t want any part of him. I’ve pushed him away, but he isn’t easily deterred. I’ve told him I’m different, but he doesn’t care. He’s trying to slowly break me down. I’m trying just as hard not to let him. He doesn’t know how truly damaged I am; what will happen when he does?
I know the truth—he’ll never be able to look at me the same way again. Just like everybody else.
5 LIVE FOR TODAY AND PUSH FOR TOMORROW STARS!!
I loved E.L. Montes first two books, Disastrous & Cautious, so I of course jumped at the chance to read Perfectly Damaged. Though I will admit I was a tad bit nervous that I may not like it. My reason? Sigh. Okay I was nervous that the story would be page after page of internal dialogue of a chick with a mental illness. Okay I said it. And now insert foot in mouth! I was SO wrong! She completely blew me away with this heartfelt story!
Yes, the story does center around Jenna and her day to day hardships she faces with her Schizoaffective disorder but Montes adds in the right amounts of humor, romance, compassion, and hope. Jenna’s friend Charlie is absolutely hilarious and Logan Reed, Jenna’s romantic interest is so sweet, sexy and compassionate.
Perfectly Damaged is going on my favorites shelf and top reads of 2014! It’s a must read!!
“I didn’t have to dig deep to love you, Jersey girl. Digging takes work. Falling in love with you was the simplest thing I’ve ever done.”
Perfectly Damaged is on Sale for $1.99 right now!
