In this New Adult debut by Robin York, a college student is attacked online and must restore her name—and stay clear of a guy who’s wrong for her, but feels so right.

When Caroline Piasecki’s ex-boyfriend posts their sex pictures on the Internet, it destroys her reputation as a nice college girl. Suddenly her once-promising future doesn’t look so bright. Caroline tries to make the pictures disappear, hoping time will bury her shame. Then a guy she barely knows rises to her defense and punches her ex to the ground.

West Leavitt is the last person Caroline needs in her life. Everyone knows he’s shady. Still, Caroline is drawn to his confidence and swagger—even after promising her dad she’ll keep her distance. On late, sleepless nights, Caroline starts wandering into the bakery where West works.

They hang out, they talk, they listen. Though Caroline and West tell each other they’re “just friends,” their feelings intensify until it becomes impossible to pretend. The more complicated her relationship with West gets, the harder Caroline has to struggle to discover what she wants for herself—and the easier it becomes to find the courage she needs to fight back against the people who would judge her.

When all seems lost, sometimes the only place to go is deeper.

Kristina’s Review:

Ex-boyfriend’s can be a bitch.
The internet isn’t always a nice place.

For Caroline Piasecki she has learned a hard lesson in both Ex-Boyfriends, and exactly how cruel the internet can be when her Ex posts intimate photos of her online. The rumors fly, and all that Caroline has done to build a reputable reputation for her future begins to crumble before her. Everything is on the line. She feels like her future has come to an end before it even started, that is before West Leavitt re-enters her life with a bang.

Or really a punch.

West has his own priorities. He has secrets, and goals he HAS to accomplish. He can’t afford to ever get caught up in another person. As West finds himself questioning everything he wanted in life for Caroline, his priorities begin slinking their way back to the forefront of his mind.

Each sinks deeper into their roles in their lives; also into each other. Life isn’t always beautiful, and sometimes that’s the beauty of the ride.

Decisions are rough. Will Caroline, and West make the right one?
I was blown away by this story. Robin York painted a heroine in Caroline Piasecki that I didn’t know I could relate to, and yet I did. As the plot unfolded, my heart would race. I wanted a HEA for West, and Caroline so bad I could taste it. The characters were real. They were flawed in the most perfect of ways. I found myself understanding whole heartedly why West made all the decisions that he felt were right for him. My heart ached at times during this journey, but the ending couldn’t have set up the next in the series more perfectly.
I CAN NOT wait for book two in Caroline, and West’s story.
