"Our baby died on prom night, and nothing was ever the same again."

Corabelle doesn’t feel like any of the other college girls. On what should have been one of the happiest nights of her life, she and her boyfriend Gavin watched a nurse disconnect the ventilator from their seven-day-old baby. During the funeral two days later, Gavin walked out and never returned.

Since then, her life has been a spiral of disasters. The only thing that has helped is her ability to black out whenever the pain gets too hard to bear, a habit that has become an addiction.

When Gavin shows up in her astronomy class four years later, he is hell-bent on getting her back, insisting she forgive him. Corabelle knows she can’t resist the touch that fills the empty ache that has haunted her since he left. But if he learns what she has done, if he follows the trail back through her past, her secrets will destroy their love completely. And once again, she’ll lose the only person who always believed she was innocent.

This is the story of Corabelle and Gavin. Two young adults that suffered a great loss at such a very young age. Their son Finn was born early with a heart condition and lived for 7 days. Unable to cope with his grief Gavin takes off from the funeral leaving Corabelle alone.

Corabelle moves to San Diego to start new. She made some mistakes at her last college in New Mexico. She is a shell of person and has never healed from the loss of her son. She doesn’t date, smile or laugh. She enrolls at the UCSD to finish her degree and is trying her best to put the past behind her. The last thing she expects on her first day is to run into the last person she thought she would ever see again.

Gavin has moved on with his life the best he could. He works at a garage while slowly putting himself through school working towards a degree in geology. Along the way he has picked up some bad habits to cope with his grief. He never could imagine seeing Corabelle after all these years in his Astronomy class.

Four years after the death of their baby, Corabelle and Gavin are brought back together again. Be it by fate or the stars.

“Our baby was that constellation for us, and no matter where we looked, no matter what other stars dotted the sky, he would always be there, the biggest and the brightest of them all.”

“On your side is grief.” I pointed at her feet. “On my side is hapiness.”
I stood up and tossed the stick away. “Now you can step across it and not look back.”

“Crossing that line isn’t about forgetting the people we love. It’s about not letting our past sorrow steal our future joy.”

This is a very emotional read. I have no idea how I would deal with a loss like that. I loved how the author used dual point of view and time flashbacks. It made the story so much more emotional. This story does end on a mild cliff hanger and there will be a second book called Forever Loved. However at this time there is no info on a release date.
